Job summary

GCI Incorporated is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain mission-critical software solutions. The role involves both frontend and backend work, leveraging Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, and AWS services within an Agile team.

A strong emphasis on DevOps practices and CI/CD is expected to continuously improve product delivery. Applicants should be US citizens with an active TS/SCI clearance and polygraph, and will contribute to large-scale Java products and data

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required with active TS/SCI clearance and polygraph.
• Experience delivering front-end and back-end software solutions.
• Strong knowledge of Java, REST, and relational databases.

Required Skills

• Front End Skills: Salesforce, Single Page Applications (JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS, HTML), jquery, jquery UI.
• Back End Skills: REST, Java, JDBC, Oracle Database.
• Build Tools: git, tactical and strategic improvements to large scale Java products.
• Documented Experience with DevOps, CI/CD Routine.
• Documented Experience with Amazon Web Services (S3, RDS, EC2, ECS).
• Translate software requirements into working and maintainable solutions within the existing application frameworks.
• Implement the product's lifecycle: Design, development, quality, deployment and maintenance.
• Develop and adhere to best-practices for developing applications.
• Continuously contribute to team performance improvement and collaboration.
• Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively.
• Experience working in an Agile development environments

Desired Skills

• Documented Experience with Amazon Web Services (Lambda, SQS, SNS, etc.).
• Documented Experience with Jenkins,GitHub.
• Excellent skills in RDBMS DB Schema design and SQL development.
