Job summary

GCI Incorporated is seeking a Software Engineer SME to contribute to data analytics and software development across engineering, targeting, and cyber operations. You will participate in Lean Agile practices, design scalable interfaces, and develop RESTful services in Java 8+ with Spring, while coordinating with security, operations and testing teams.

You will also work on SPA front-end development with HTML5/CSS3/Angular 2+, test with JUnit/Jasmine and Jest/Karma, and manage vendor software

Qualifications

• Experience in Lean Agile development environments.
• Ability to translate customer and system requirements into design documents.
• Experience designing system interfaces and integration points.
• Proficient in front-end SPA development using HTML5, CSS3, and Angular 2+.
• Hands-on experience building RESTful web services in Java 8+ or Spring.
• Experience with web/app servers such as Tomcat and related technologies.
• Experience with unit testing using JUnit and Jasmine, and with Jest or Karma.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all Lean Agile scrums, sprints and grooming sessions.
• Consult and coordinate appropriately for problem resolution, task scheduling, new resource requirements, and task clarification.
• Work in partnership with an integrated team of staff and candidates.
• Understand the cloud environments, such as AWS or Azure.
• Coordinate and collaborate with security, operations, engineering, testing and other teams to provide system information and technical support.
• Design, develop and modify software systems.
• Document and track vendor software roadmaps for software and patch version updates.
• Unit test their software and perform code reviews.
• Modify and integrate commercial software into cloud environment.

Required Skills And Demonstrated Experience

• Demonstrated experience working in Lean Agile Development environment.
• Demonstrated experience developing detailed design and associated deliverables.
• Demonstrated experience translating customer and system requirements into design.
• Demonstrated experience designing system interfaces.
• Demonstrated experience developing Single Page Applications using HTML5, CSS3, and Angular 2+.
• Demonstrated hands‑on experience developing RESTful web services using Java 8+ or other technologies such as Spring Framework 4+, or Spring Security 4+.
• Demonstrated hands‑on experience with and troubleshooting of Internet and Web related protocols and technologies such as Tomcat, Nodejs, Web Services, or SSL.
• Demonstrated hands‑on experience developing JUnit and Jasmine tests.
• Demonstrated experience with testing platforms such as Jest or Karma.
• Demonstrated hands‑on experience working with DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, or Nexus.
• Demonstrated hands‑on experience working with enterprise search technologies such as, Lucidworks Fusion 4.2.6 and higher.

Highly Desired Skills And Demonstrated Experience

• Demonstrated recent experience with the customer’s Lean Agile methodology and ErDoS for reporting sprint MVI burn‑up and top line charts, as well as MVI features and user stories.
• Demonstrated experience with FLSS, and NES and Lucidworks Fusion 4.2.6 and higher.

A candidate must be a US Citizen and requires an active/current TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
