As a Software Engineer Senior, the work you'll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of our customer.
- Writes scripts, implements, patches, develops code fixes and solutions to support mission-critical flight safety systems. Installs and updates software systems.
- Administers software on workstations across multiple classified workstations and networks.
- Monitors, creates, tracks, manages, resolves, and closes DIP tickets including incidents, problems and RITMs for software applications.
- Works with vendors to resolve Tier 4 software issues.
- Administers and coordinates software IT system improvements and/or enhancements.
- Monitors software systems utilizing industry leading processes, technologies, and tools.
- Provides timely resolution to software DIP tickets using processes, procedures, knowledge articles, and troubleshooting skills.
- Works and coordinates with others to accomplish mission goals for critical software on mission IT systems.
- Plans implementation of enhancements to mission IT systems software.
- Designs, develops, troubleshoots, and analyzes advanced software programs, scripts, and patches for computer-based mission critical systems
- Develops advanced documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code
- Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming
- Performs advanced mission-specific systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.
- Designs and develop basic compilers, assemblers, utility programs and operating systems
- Develops software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; and following the software development lifecycle
- Develops documentation of new or existing programs
- Applies practical knowledge of job typically obtained through advanced education and work experience
- Participates in special projects as required.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your engineering expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The Software Engineer Senior must have:
- Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science
- Experience: 5+ years of related experience
- Technical skills:
- Must have experience with Intelligence Community customer
- Must have experience working with mid and senior level government
- Must have experience supporting classified government networks
- Certifications in networks highly desired
- Security clearance level: TS/SCI with Polygraph
Specific SAP accesses required (or highly preferred or ability to obtain them)
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Must have experience supporting classified government mission IT systems
- Must have experience with satellite orbital planning and operations tools including Satellite Toolkit
- Must have experience with analytic modeling tools including MATLAB
US Citizenship required
