Job summary

Freddie Mac, a national housing finance organization, seeks a Senior Java Developer to join the Enterprise BTO. You will develop software solutions, study user needs, and participate in the full software lifecycle within a fast-paced Dev Factory environment.

You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, uphold coding standards, and mentor teammates while ensuring security and performance across enterprise systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 5+ years of Java experience in developing applications using Java/J2EE technologies, preferably in Unix environment
  • Excellent understanding of typical multi-tier architectures: web servers, caching, application servers, & load balancers
  • Hands-on experience on multiple technologies such as: Java/J2EE & middleware (WebLogic, Apache, Spring Boot, etc.) technologies in UNIX environment and Scripting languages such as UNIX Shell
  • Build automation / CICD pipeline integration tools (Jenkins, GIT, Bitbucket, Artifactory, etc.)
  • Relational databases (Sybase, DB2, SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL)
  • Information and application security including LDAP, certificates, public key encryption, SSH, access credentials, etc.
  • Experience developing/maintaining applications using C/C++ technologies, preferably in Unix environment in a nice to have

  • Follow established methodology and controls guidelines. Maintain agility and quality throughout development process.
  • Documenting Technical Design, Interface Specifications and Unit Testing.
  • Participate in technical discussions and provide recommendations or solutions
  • Demonstrating ownership of problems, issues, or requests from start to finish and facilitating appropriate handoffs
  • Ensuring that Best Practices for development activities (e.g. code reviews, unit testing, etc.) are followed through the project life-cycle

Position Overview:

The Enterprise Business Technology Office (BTO) at Freddie Mac enables business operational excellence through the flexible use of technology. The team supports the needs of the enterprise groups, including the chief administrative office, compliance, enterprise risk management, finance, human resources, diversity and outreach, internal audit and legal. In addition to championing and empowering business partners, Enterprise BTO takes steps to improve efficiency and effectiveness across the organization.

This is an opportunity to join a fast-paced team of talented individuals responsible for providing IT development support across various organizations in Freddie Mac. Senior developer will help line manager/technical lead in day to day operations, provide application development support and guide/mentor other members of the team.

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $116,000 - $174,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
