Job summary

Zantech is seeking a Software Engineer to develop, test, and sustain web applications and dashboards on the Client Platform in an AWS GovCloud environment supporting Navy users. This hands-on role emphasizes modern cloud, DevSecOps practices, testing, and user support.

The engineer will work under a Senior Software Engineer, grow in a DevOps-friendly setup, and participate in Agile ceremonies, with opportunities to contribute to architecture, documentation, and customer outcomes.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Software Engineer to support the Data and Analytics Division. Working under the direction of the Senior Software Engineer, this position develops, tests, and sustains web applications and dashboards on the Client Platform, an AWS GovCloud environment serving Navy operational, financial, and acquisition users. This is a hands-on development role with responsibility for testing and user support, suited to an engineer looking to grow in a modern cloud and DevSecOps environment.

Responsibilities include, but will not be limited to:

• Develop and enhance front-end and back-end features for custom data applications and executive dashboards, following established architecture and coding standards.
• Build and consume RESTful APIs and write queries against relational and NoSQL data stores.
• Develop test plans, write and execute test cases, and track defects through resolution.
• Write and maintain automated unit, regression, and UI tests that run within the CI/CD pipeline.
• Fix bugs, make UI/UX updates, and perform routine maintenance as part of continuous sustainment.
• Remediate code-level findings from SAST, DAST, and container scans.
• Provide Tier 2 user support, including access issues, dashboard navigation, and basic data visualization troubleshooting, using the Government-approved ticketing system.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, and release activities.
• Contribute to system and user documentation.

Required Experience or Knowledge of the following technologies/functions:

• 4+ years experience developing web applications using a modern front-end framework (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js) and a back-end language (e.g., Python, Java, Node.js, .NET).
• Working knowledge of SQL and experience integrating applications with a database.
• Experience with software testing, including writing test cases and tracking defects.
• Experience using Git or another version control system.
• DoDM 8140.03 qualifying certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE) prior to start.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Node.js and Python.
• Exposure to AWS services, especially in GovCloud or another DoD environment.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., AWS CodePipeline, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins).
• Familiarity with Docker or other container technologies.
• Experience with automated testing tools (e.g., Jest, Selenium, Cypress, PyTest).
• Experience with Power BI or Qlik.
• Help desk or user support experience.
• Experience with Jira or Azure DevOps.

Required Security Clearance:

• An active Secret or higher clearance, per contract requirements.
