Job Role: SDET

Location: Jersey City, NJ || Tampa, FL || Coppell, TX

Overview

Team & Role Overview

• The team is looking for developer-focused SDETs rather than traditional QA automation engineers.
• Approximately 90% of the work will involve coding, including:
• Unit testing
• Integration testing
• Java-based automation development
• Candidates should be comfortable writing production-quality code and building automation solutions instead of executing manual test cases.

The candidate will initially be responsible for SDET activities from day one, with a primary focus on test automation. As business and team requirements evolve, they will be expected to contribute to Java development tasks when required.

Must-Have Skills

• Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver.
• Experience implementing the Page Object Model (POM) framework.
• Strong knowledge of JUnit.
• Experience with Maven for build management.
• Proficiency with Git.
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts.
• Familiarity with containers and cloud environments.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and reusable automation code.
• Java development experience is mandatory. The hiring manager emphasized that candidates should have development experience in addition to automation testing.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience working with cloud-native applications.
• Exposure to container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
• Experience designing or enhancing automation frameworks.
• Previous software development experience beyond test automation.

• The team is not looking for candidates whose background is primarily manual testing with limited automation exposure.

• Candidates should be comfortable working in a modern development environment using Java, Selenium, JUnit, Git, Maven, containers, and cloud technologies.

Interview Process

Round 1 – Technical Interview (Zoom)

• Conducted via Zoom.
• Candidates will be asked to share their screen and complete a live coding exercise using an IDE (e.g., IntelliJ or Eclipse).
• Coding on Notepad or plain text editors will not be accepted.
• This round will be conducted onsite.
