Job summary

Artera in the United States is seeking a Software Engineer to build and optimize data pipelines powering billing, EHR integrations and AI-driven cancer therapy tools.

You will translate cross-functional requirements into scalable, secure cloud software on AWS, focusing on revenue cycle workflows, with emphasis on Python, CI/CD, and production-grade delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, SE, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of professional software engineering shipping and operating production systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Experience designing, developing, and deploying production-grade, highly available cloud-based software systems (AWS preferred).
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing.
• Strong written and verbal communication, able to work with Finance and external vendor counterparts.

Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable software solutions within AWS for high-throughput data processing and EHR data ingestion.
• Translate requirements from Sales, Finance, and Customer Success into scoped engineering deliverables with SLAs and observability.
• Use AI Code-gen and other AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery, generating, reviewing, and refactoring Python code.

About Us:

Artera is an AI startup that develops medical artificial intelligence tests to personalize therapy for cancer patients. Artera is on a mission to personalize medical decisions for patients and physicians on a global scale.

As we scale, our core infrastructure must seamlessly handle complex workflows spanning billing platforms, electronic health record (EHR) systems, and varied healthcare vendor networks. We are hiring a Software Engineer dedicated to building, optimizing, and automating Artera’s foundational data pipelines end-to-end—with an initial, heavy focus on our revenue cycle and billing operations.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Architect, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable software solutions within AWS to support high-throughput data processing, ensuring our cloud infrastructure seamlessly handles EHR data ingestion, AI inference workloads, and secure partner integrations while maintaining strict healthcare compliance standards.

• Translate requirements from Sales, Finance, and Customer Success into well‐scoped engineering deliverables with clear SLAs, observability, and rollback paths.

• Use AI Code-gen and other AI‐assisted development tools to accelerate delivery, generating, reviewing, and refactoring Python code.

Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience shipping and operating production systems.

• Strong proficiency in Python

• Demonstrated experience leading the design, development, and deployment of production‑grade, highly available software systems in the cloud (AWS preferred).

• Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, automated testing

• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to work directly with Finance and external vendor counterparts.

Desired Experience:

• Experience with AWS and ECS

• Experience working with GraphQL and REST APIs

• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases

• Experience with HL7, FIHR, and Electronic Health Record (ECR) integrations

$120,000 - $220,000 a year

In addition to base salary, equity is a core component of our compensation. We also offer 401k matching, unlimited paid time off (PTO), and more.

The base salary is competitive and commensurate with experience, qualifications, and other factors to be discussed during the interview process.
