Jobgether is seeking a senior AI platform engineer to build scalable generative AI services in a fully remote US-focused role. You will own backend systems, implement RAG pipelines, and integrate AI agents with MCP, while collaborating across product and design teams.
You will prototype concepts, ensure observability, and help steer the technical direction in fast-evolving AI environments, delivering reliable solutions for customers. Strong communication and ownership are essential.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain core AI product services, prioritizing accuracy, scalability, security, reliability, and observability.
- Design and implement production-ready generative and agentic AI capabilities, including AI agents, RAG pipelines, workflow orchestration, LLM integrations, and external tool connections through Model Context Protocol (MCP).
- Build and evolve distributed systems using Node.js, Python, and Java, including RESTful APIs, WebSockets, and streaming pipelines.
- Integrate microservices, legacy systems, and AI platforms while ensuring consistent communication, resilience, traceability, and reliable agent behavior.
- Implement event-driven architectures and asynchronous processing using message brokers and queues such as RabbitMQ and BullMQ.
- Design, optimize, and maintain relational, non-relational, and vector databases, including embedding strategies, caching, and eventual consistency.
- Contribute to the product's front-end when necessary, using React and TypeScript to support end-to-end delivery.
- Investigate and resolve complex production issues in multi-tenant environments, including non-deterministic behavior associated with LLM-based systems.
- Maintain high software quality standards through automated testing, agent evaluations (evals), code reviews, and established engineering practices.
- Identify new opportunities to apply generative and agentic AI to product and operational challenges beyond existing solutions.
- Rapidly prototype concepts and develop proofs of concept to validate technical feasibility and business value before committing to full implementation.
- Contribute to roadmap discussions by recommending where and how AI can deliver meaningful value.
- Stay informed about emerging AI models, agent techniques, evaluation methods, and development tools, assessing their practical applicability.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, QA, Data, and AI teams to prioritize ideas and deliver integrated solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to the team's technical direction, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
- Professional experience with Node.js and NestJS, including strong TypeScript skills and knowledge of microservices architecture.
- Experience with Python and frameworks such as FastAPI or equivalent tools for building services and APIs, particularly for generative AI applications.
- Hands-on experience building AI agents, RAG pipelines, and LLM integrations in production environments. Familiarity with tools such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or custom orchestration approaches is valuable; understanding the underlying concepts is essential.
- Familiarity with workflow orchestration and automation tools such as n8n or equivalent platforms, along with a willingness to learn the tools used by the team.
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, including data modeling, complex queries, and performance tuning.
- Practical knowledge of non-relational databases and caching technologies such as MongoDB and Redis, as well as event-driven architectures using tools such as RabbitMQ and BullMQ.
- Familiarity with vector databases and the fundamentals of embeddings and semantic search, using technologies such as Pinecone, Weaviate, Qdrant, or pgvector.
- Experience designing, implementing, and versioning RESTful APIs and WebSockets.
- Ability to read, understand, and modify React/TypeScript front-end code when needed to unblock delivery, without requiring front-end specialization.
- Regular, advanced use of AI-assisted and agentic development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar solutions, with the ability to critically review generated code and customize development environments, including MCP integrations.
- Experience working with agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban and collaborating within multidisciplinary squads.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, initiative, and a high level of ownership, with the confidence to propose, prototype, and advocate for new ideas.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to influence technical and product decisions in ambiguous, fast-evolving AI environments.
Additional qualifications that will set you apart:
- Experience leading AI initiatives from the ground up, taking products or capabilities from concept to initial implementation.
- Familiarity with observability practices for AI systems, including structured logging, metrics, distributed tracing, and monitoring agent or prompt quality.
- Experience with AWS and cloud architecture.
- Previous experience in digital health, health technology, or other regulated industries.
- An active interest in generative and agentic AI research, including emerging models, techniques, research papers, and tools.
