Job summary

Cognite, with a strong Phoenix presence, seeks a 2-5 year fullstack software engineer to build and scale Cognite Data Fusion and related applications. You’ll contribute to APIs, data processing, and AI-enabled features for asset-intensive industries.

You’ll collaborate with designers, ML engineers, and product teams to deliver robust solutions, while leveraging cloud services, Kubernetes, and modern frameworks in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of fullstack software engineering experience.
• Proficient in Python with backend frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, Django).
• Experience with cloud platforms and container orchestration.
• Familiarity with distributed open-source tech (Kubernetes, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch).
• Interest in prompt engineering and LLM integration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own end-to-end features across platforms.
• Design elegant APIs and UX, and build scalable infrastructure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced setting.
• Integrate with LLMs and AI services using modern tools.
• Contribute to testing strategies: unit, integration, and E2E.

The Impact you bring to Cognite

A typical day as a Full Stack Engineer working at Cognite will contain the following tasks & responsibilities

• Work with a wide range of systems, processes, and technologies and own and solve problems end-to-end.
• Collaborate in a fast-paced environment involving different stakeholders and subject matter experts.
• Using your Fullstack development skills to build tools that extract key information from documents and connect data, such that users can make the most of their industrial data
• Design and implement elegant APIs, user experiences, and the underlying infrastructure that leverage smart algorithms and AI
• Participate in discussions around technical direction and product improvements.
• Work closely with our skilled users to understand their needs and build products to help them succeed.

We believe most of these should match your experience

• You have 2-5 years of fullstack software engineering experience.
• You write well-structured, efficient, and maintainable code and actively keep the quality of the codebase in check.
• You can learn new coding languages and use the language that best fits the purpose. In particular, you have hands-on experience with Python and any Python backend framework (FastAPI, Flask, Django). Previous experience writing code in Kotlin is a plus.
• You have experience with some of the following: Google Cloud Platform services, Azure, and/or AWS. Experience with cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, Docker, and other related technologies
• You have experience with distributed open-source software such as Kubernetes, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, and similar
• You have a passion for emerging web technologies
• You have experience with prompt engineering and integrating with large language models through e.g. langchain, fabric
• You are pragmatic about unit testing, integration testing, and E2E testing.
• You have a bachelor's degree or more in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar, or equivalent experience.
