Job description
Overview

We are looking for a full stack Software Engineer to join the Data Science & Engineering (DSE) team, which is developing EntityRisk’s core methodology and software. Our platform predicts the clinical, social, and commercial value of new medical technologies in the real world to help optimize risk‑sharing, advance market access, improve evidence‑generation investments, and correctly assess commercial value.

This role is fully remote and based entirely in the United States.

Applicants should have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer engineering, software development, or computer science and at least three years of experience working with web‑app frameworks like Django.

Full stack software engineers build robust web applications leveraging our in‑house software for performing disease simulation and cost effectiveness analysis. Engineers are key members of the product team, working to translate the needs of our clients into fully functional user experiences. In addition, they contribute to internal software libraries and help clients solve specific problems as part of consulting projects.

Ideal candidates are collaborative and intellectually curious with a desire to expand their skills and knowledge. Successful candidates will have good communication skills in addition to strong technical skills. We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running, turning the methods we've developed in Python into user‑friendly web applications suitable for deployment at scale.

This role has significant ownership over the front‑end of our web applications. The successful candidate will be expected to design, implement, and evolve the front‑end architecture, including selecting and maintaining appropriate frameworks and libraries. We are intentionally flexible on specific technologies and are looking for an engineer who can make sound technical decisions and take responsibility for the long‑term maintainability and usability of the user experience.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with data engineers and data scientists to build user experience workflows that use our established methods to answer important business questions for our clients
  • Develop, test, and deploy front‑ and back‑end infrastructure for computationally intensive web applications leveraging our existing Python codebase
  • Evaluate, select, and maintain front‑end frameworks, libraries, and tooling appropriate for our product and team
  • Establish front‑end best practices, conventions, and documentation to support long‑term maintainability
  • Design and implement intuitive, user‑centered interfaces for scientific workflows, incorporating user and design feedback
  • Contribute to internal software libraries by identifying bugs, suggesting new features, creating unit tests, writing documentation, and enforcing style conventions
  • Follow software best practices including version control (Git), code review, and documentation
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines to keep applications secure and available
  • Work with other engineers to maintain our AWS infrastructure
Qualifications
  • BA/BS or MS in a related field
  • Fluency in Python and frameworks like Django and FastAPI
  • Experience owning production systems end‑to‑end, from architecture through deployment and long‑term maintenance
  • Strong UX intuition, with experience translating complex technical concepts into clear, usable interfaces
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • US work authorization and residence
