Job summary

Meta is seeking talented Machine Learning engineers to join our teams in building cutting-edge products with the mission of connecting billions of people worldwide. As a member of our team, you will tackle complex technical problems, ship new features, and improve existing products across platforms including mobile and web.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, design scalable systems, and lead parts of major initiatives while advancing the state of the art in recommendations and AI.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in software engineering or a relevant field (2+ if you have a PhD).
• 2+ years of experience in ML, recommendation systems, AI, or related technical field.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Javascript or Hack.
• Experience with developing ML models at scale from inception to business impact.
• Knowledge developing and debugging in C/C++ and Java, or scripting languages such as Python, Perl, PHP, and/or shell scripts.
• Track record of setting technical direction for a team, driving consensus and cross-functional partnerships.
• Proven experience designing, building, or deploying recommendation systems (e.g., collaborative filtering, content-based, hybrid).
• Experience building and shipping high quality work and reliability.
• Experience improving quality through thoughtful code reviews, testing, rollout, monitoring.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE or equivalent practical experience.

4. Experience with scripting languages such as Pytorch and TensorFlow
5. Exposure to architectural patterns of large scale software applications
6. Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
7. Hands-on experience working with large language models (LLMs), such as BERT, GPT, or similar architectures, including fine-tuning, integration, or application in production environments
8. Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or another ML-related field

$183,997/year to $257,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
