We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to support the Network Operations Automation Prototyping (NOAP) program at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD. Compensation ranges from $86,000 to $150,000 per year.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Build high‑quality, innovative, and fully performing software in compliance with coding standards and technical design.
• Design, modify, develop, write, and implement software programming applications.
• Support or install software applications/operating systems. Participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing, and certification of software.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for all computer and software related aspects assigned to the program.
• Design and implement software solutions for back‑end and front‑end development for interactive web/mobile applications.
• Perform engineering and scientific work involving the design, development, and operation of man‑portable computer systems, including hardware and software, and their integration with other systems and peripherals.

Required Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Due to the sensitive nature of the work, a candidate must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
• High school diploma and 10 years of experience, OR associate’s degree and 7 years of experience, OR bachelor’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience, OR master’s degree and 1 year of experience.
• Experience in software development and all phases of the software development life cycle.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Agile framework and ability to apply best practices using industry standards.
• Understanding of TCP/IP and UDP/Multicast networking.
• 5+ years of Software Development or Systems Engineering in a professional environment.
• Proficiency in Java, C++, or Python development.
• Experience with JavaScript and web development.
• Source code control with Git.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience working with stakeholders and development teams.
• Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing, to convey development strategy and integration activities.
• Experience developing, maintaining, and contributing to technical documentation.
• Ability to travel to customer locations and support customer engagement locations.
