Job summary

Position Overview:

The Software Engineer/Principal Software Engineer – Level 2 or 3will support a growing portfolio of programs and IRADs that focus on missile defense, space, and intelligence and will support various modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) project teams performing software engineering tasks using languages like C++ and Python to support complex analysis of defense systems.

Essential Functions:

• Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems thatcontainlogical and mathematical solutions.
• Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning,designand development of product software.
• Ensuresoftware standards aremet and meet customer requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

• Basic Qualifications for Principal Software Engineer – Level 2:Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and2 years of related work experience, or aMaster's Degree
• Basic Qualifications for Principal Software Engineer – Level 3:Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and5 years of related work experience, or aMaster's Degreeand 3 years of related work experience, or 1 year of related work experience with a PhD.
• Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issuedTop Secretsecurity clearance at the time of application, which isrequiredto start
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs
• Recent experience developing software in C/C++, Java, Python, or similar object-oriented languages
• Experience performing test-driven development
• Quick to learn and absorb new concepts and information
• Experience with git configuration management tools and collaboration products likeGithub,BitBucket, or GitLab

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with user interface app development and front end software.
• Experience with Software Change Control, Change Management, Code Quality, Static Analysis, and CI/CD tools such as: Atlassian tool suite, Jira, GitHub, GitLab, SonarQube, Coverity, and Jenkins.
• Advanced degree in Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science
• Highly experienced with Linux, scripting, and operations
• Experience implementing complex mathematical algorithms in code
• Experience with automated softwarerequirementstesting and analysis
• Experience developing software inanModel Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) environment.
