PNC in Pittsburgh seeks a Software Engineer Lead-DevOps to guide platform reliability and automation within the Data and Automation group. Based in the office, you will own CI/CD pipelines, IaC, monitoring, and production readiness while mentoring teammates.

Collaborating with platform architects, ML engineers, security, and data teams, you will implement reusable engineering standards, oversee releases, and ensure scalable, governed enterprise AI/ML features across lines of business.

Software Engineer Lead-Dev Ops within PNC's Data and Automation organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the Senior/Lead DevOps Engineer for a Hybrid Vendor Product, with primary responsibility for reliability, automation, security, and operational readiness.
  • Lead the design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, environment automation, release management, monitoring, observability, backup and recovery, capacity planning, and production support.
  • Provide long-term internal ownership of critical platform capabilities while reducing dependency on vendor resources and enabling effective knowledge transfer from contractors to full-time associates. This supports the documented operating principle that ongoing production capabilities should have an FTE primary owner.
  • Partner with platform architects, feature engineers, MLOps engineers, data engineers, security teams, infrastructure teams, and business partners to deliver a secure, scalable, governed, and reusable enterprise AI/ML platform.
  • Act as a technical leader and hands‑on engineer who establishes reusable engineering standards, mentors team members, improves operational processes, and supports the Enterprise Feature Store vision of building features once, governing them consistently, and enabling reuse across models and lines of business.

  • Proposes & designs software solutions to address complex business needs. Prepares technical and procedural documentation required.
  • Facilitates complex problem resolution.
  • Provides technical guidance and support to colleagues. Reviews coding, testing, and documentation of software.
  • Applies modern principles, methodologies and tools to advance business initiatives and capabilities.
