Job summary

PrismaX, a remote-first US company, is hiring a Software Engineer Lead to architect our core platform for teleoperation and autonomous robotics. You will shape the infrastructure and drive performance, reliability, and scalability across systems.

You will work with backend teams and robotics hardware to integrate control and data capture, make technical decisions, and mentor engineers as the team grows. This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-moving startup.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience building production-grade systems.
• Strong backend engineering with Python, Java, Rust or C++.
• Experience designing scalable, distributed, or real-time systems.
• Experience deploying cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or similar).
• Ownership of complex technical systems end-to-end.
• Able to operate independently in a fast-moving startup.

You will

• Define and lead the architecture of PrismaX's core platform and infrastructure.
• Build and scale backend systems that power teleoperation, robotics data collection, and data delivery to clients.
• Work closely with robotics hardware to integrate control systems and data capture workflows.
• Lead technical decision-making and establish engineering best practices.
• Hire, mentor, and guide engineers as the team grows.
• Ensure high standards of reliability, performance, and system scalability.
• Collaborate closely with product and leadership teams to execute the technical roadmap.

You must have

• 7+ years of software engineering experience building production-grade systems.
• Strong backend engineering experience with languages such as Python, Java, Rust, or C++.
• Experience designing scalable, distributed, or real-time systems.
• Strong system design and architectural skills.
• Experience deploying and managing cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or similar).
• Experience owning and delivering complex technical systems end-to-end.
• Ability to operate independently and take ownership in a fast-moving startup environment.

Ideally, you would have

• Experience working with robotics systems, ROS, or hardware-integrated software.
• Experience building real-time streaming, teleoperation, or control systems.
• Experience working with AI/ML pipelines or multimodal data.
• Experience building infrastructure or developer platforms.
• Experience at an early-stage startup or as a founding or senior engineer.
• Passion for robotics, AI, and building foundational technology.
