Responsibilities
- Collaborate with team members to develop and maintain high‑security smart card and USB authenticator configuration files, enabling government and commercial enterprise customers to use PKI authentication, encryption and decryption of email and files, digital signature, and phishing‑resistant credentials to eliminate passwords.
- Develop new application software and tools to assist technical teams with testing.
- Utilize custom software tools to map client data and create programming logic to provide missing data elements to fulfill requirements.
- Demonstrate expert knowledge of the company’s technical capabilities and processes appropriate to customer’s needs.
- Translate client requirements into a structured plan outlining steps that reflect the objectives.
- Parse client data files.
- Accurately create the required output files for personalization.
- Develop scripts using procedural logic to create carriers.
- Create and validate test (BAP) cards in a testing and production environment.
- Effectively implement software changes.
- Provide adequate release documentation that describes program development, installation, and operating procedures.
- Understand and execute all corporate, ISO 9000, and departmental policies, specifications, and requirements.
- Act as a liaison between internal and external clients on the implementation of new products, data compatibility, gathering and analyzing of test data, and key management.
- Provide second‑level production support.
- Provide unit tests, automation, and other best practices associated with code quality.
- Assist the technical lead and product owner with design decisions and propose best‑in‑class solutions based on a given set of requirements.
The US base salary range for this position is $112,130 – $140,171.00 + bonus + benefits. Individual pay is determined by job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science and 8–10 years of relevant experience.
- Analyze, design, develop, modify, write, edit, and implement software programming applications.
- Analyze and define software requirements to determine specifications and standards.
- Background in some or all of the following areas: manufacturing software language, smart‑card manufacturing process and software programming, unit, integration, and functional testing.
- Experience developing software in the identity or bank card markets.
- Deep understanding of Smart Card, PKI security cryptography, PCSC, CCID, and HID interfaces.
- Previous experience in physical access control (PACS) systems and PROX programming.
- Experience with biometric modalities such as fingerprints, iris, and face recognition.
- Previous experience with identity and access management, specifically with PIV, FIDO authentication, and standards.
- Familiarity with industry standards including NIST, FIPS 140‑3, FIPS 201, ISO, and Global Platform.
- Windows cryptography stacks including CSP, KSP, and Mini driver.
- Familiarity with JavaCard applets.
- Strong system thinking with a bias for action; able to ship successful products that create positive customer outcomes.
