Job summary

Upbound Group, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer I-V for our Digital Commerce team in Utah.

You will contribute across the full SDLC, writing high-quality code and solving complex issues while collaborating with product management, UX/UI, and backend teams to deliver scalable eCommerce platforms. You will optimize performance, ensure security, and participate in code reviews, with a focus on integrating Salesforce Commerce Cloud and other Tier 1 platforms.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
  • 5+ years of software development experience in B2C applications.
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud.
  • Full-stack experience across frontend and backend systems.
  • Experience with high-performance, scalable eCommerce architectures.
  • Proficiency with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Write high-quality code and optimize applications for performance, security, and stability.
  • Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, and backend engineers to translate requirements into robust solutions.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues and production bugs in a timely and effective manner.
  • Participate in code reviews and promote secure coding practices.
  • Take ownership of assigned work streams from design through deployment.
  • Ensure secure coding practices and conduct vulnerability assessments to protect consumer data.

This role focuses on the hands-on execution of the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), ensuring high-quality code output and the on-time delivery of project milestones . You will work closely with technical leadership to maintain architectural integrity while collaborating with offshore partners to ensure seamless development synchronization .KEY RESPONSIBILITIESFeature Development and Optimization: Responsible for writing high-quality code, resolving complex bugs, and optimizing applications to meet performance, stability, and security standards .Technical Implementation: Translate business requirements into robust technical solutions by collaborating with engineering technical lead, product managers, UX/UI designers, and backend engineer ing teams .System Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues and production bugs in a timely and effective manner .Code Quality: Participate in rigorous code reviews and implement best practices to foster a strong development culture .Technical Ownership: Take ownership of assigned work streams from initial design through deployment and maintenance .Troubleshoot and Problem-Solve : Responsible for diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues and production bugs in a timely and effective manner.Accountable for implementing secure coding practices and conducting vulnerability assessments to protect consumer data and ensure compliance with digital commerce security standards .KEY SKILLSProficient in full-stack development skills to guide our technical evolution, including frontend (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue.js) and backend (e.g., Node.js, Java, or Python) development.Solid understanding of e-commerce principles and knowledge of Tier 1 e-commerce platforms to integrate platforms with external systems and API protocols.Proven ability to manage work within the full software development life cycle to ensure high-quality results .Strong communication skills to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including product and design teams .Experience facilitating clear communication with vendors to resolve technical dependencies and integration issues .Proficient in agile methodologies and leveraging AI tools (such as GitHub Copilot) to accelerate development , automate unit testing and streamline documentation without compromising security or architectural integrity .Resourceful and systematic problem-solver, capable of quickly diagnosing and resolving complex technical issue s .JOB REQUIREMENTSBachelor’s degree in computer science or related fiel d.5 + years of experience in software development with a focus on B2C applications .Solid experience of Tier 1 e-commerce platforms like Salesforce Commerce Cloud.Comprehensive hands-on experience in full-stack development across frontend and backend systems.Familiarity with high-performance, scalable eCommerce architecture.Experience with Git for version control and knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.This is a full-time, on-site role requiring 5 days per week in the office.SPONSORSHIPApplicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.Upbound Group is an equal opportunity employer.
