Overview

TikTok Privacy & Security Product team is responsible for building compliant and user-friendly privacy solutions for TikTok, with the goal of building trust among TikTok users, regulators, and the public. The team is working on TikTok's privacy-related products, including user/underage protection, data access controls, data retention policies, etc.

Internships at TikTok aim to provide students with hands‑on experience in developing fundamental skills and exploring potential career paths. A vibrant blend of social events and enriching development workshops will be available for you to explore. Responsibilities

• TikTok Privacy & Security Product team is responsible for building compliant and user-friendly privacy solutions for TikTok, with the goal of building trust among TikTok users, regulators, and the public
• Here, you will utilize your knowledge in real‑world scenarios while laying a strong foundation for personal and professional growth
• It runs for 12 weeks
• Build new features that touch hundreds of millions of people around the world
• Solve unique, large‑scale, highly complex technical problems
• Participate in technical discussions related to the team's product and engineering work
• Interact with internal/external clients and/or colleagues, occasionally unsupervised
• Appropriately handle and manage confidential information, including proprietary and trade secret information and access to information technology systems

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing an Undergraduate/Master degree in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during Summer 2026
• Proficiency in one of the commonly used languages
• Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Graduating December 2026 onwards with the intent to return to degree program after the completion of the internship
• Familiarity with Java, Kotlin, Objective‑C, and Swift will be considered advantageous
• Demonstrated software engineering experience from previous internship, work experience, coding competitions, or publications
• High levels of creativity and quick problem‑solving capabilities
• The hourly rate range for this position is $42.75
• Interns have day one access to health insurance, life insurance, wellbeing benefits and more
• Interns also receive 10 paid holidays per year and paid sick time (56 hours if hired in first half of year, 40 if hired in second half of year)
• Interns who are not working 100% remote may also be eligible for housing allowance
