Job summary

TikTok is offering a Software Engineer Intern (Global E-commerce-Search) for Summer 2027 in Seattle. You will work on the TikTok Shop discovery stack, contribute to real-world features, and receive mentorship while writing production code in C++, Go, Java, or Python.

You will join a cross‑functional team, gain practical experience across search, ML, and data infrastructure, and participate in design reviews, testing, and performance evaluation over a 12‑week program.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Able to work full‑time for 12 consecutive weeks.
• Programming experience in at least one general‑purpose language (C++, Go, Java, Python).
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object‑oriented or modular design.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate in a team.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a scoped feature or system component with mentor guidance.
• Write clear, maintainable production code in C++, Go, Java, or Python.
• Participate in design discussions, reviews, testing, and documentation.
• Use metrics to evaluate latency, throughput, reliability, and relevance.
• Investigate issues and propose practical improvements.
• Present work and results to the team at internship end.
