Job summary

Vesta is building out its early engineering team to design and operate reliable distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and developer platforms at scale. You are expected to own foundational systems that power engineering velocity and platform reliability.

This role involves cloud architecture, deployment systems, observability, incident response, and internal developer tooling. We look for engineers who are proactive, responsible, and team-oriented, ready to work with ambitious peers.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing and operating distributed systems at scale.
• Strong in cloud infrastructure and developer platforms.
• Ability to own and deliver reliability-focused projects.

An ideal candidate for this role has deep experience designing and operating reliable distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and developer platforms at scale. About your role

Your primary focus will be scaling and maturing Vesta's infrastructure to support the entire mortgage market reliably, securely, and efficiently. You\'ll be responsible for building the foundational systems that power engineering velocity and platform reliability, including cloud architecture, deployment systems, observability, incident response, and internal developer tooling.

Because the responsibilities of this role are broad and evolving, we\'re looking for engineers with strong experience building and operating infrastructure at scale. We don\'t expect candidates to have experience in every technology we use, but the following areas are required for success in the role:

Required experience

• Strongly typed programming language (C#, Go, etc…)

• PostgreSQL or similar relational database experience (indexing, performance tuning)

• Kubernetes, Helm, Docker

• Major cloud provider (AWS, GCP), Terraform

Nice to have

• AWS, Linux, Ansible

• Kafka, Redis, OpenSearch

• Performance engineering in any of the above domains

Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $200,000 - $240,000. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.
