Qualifications

• 3+ years of software development experience with enterprise applications.
• Writes secure and high-quality code using Python 3 and PySpark with limited guidance.
• Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems.
• Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment.
• Gathers, analyzes, and draws conclusions from large data sets to inform decisions.
• Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Solid understanding of agile methodologies including CI/CD, resiliency, and security.

We have an exciting opportunity for software engineers to advance their careers. As a Software Engineer III – Python/PySpark/AWS at JPMorganChase within the Payments Trust and Safety organization, you will be a seasoned member of an agile team designing and delivering trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for delivering critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas in support of the firms business objectives.

Job Responsibilities

• Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
• Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
• Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
• Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets to support continuous improvement of software applications and systems
• Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
• Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
• Supports a team culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• 3+ years of software development experience with enterprise applications
• Writes secure and high-quality code using Python 3 and PySpark with limited guidance
• Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications
• Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
• Gathers, analyzes, and draws conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making in secure, stable application development
• Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Solid understanding of agile methodologies including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security
• Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Exposure to cloud technologies – AWS EC2, EKS, RDS, S3, Lambda
• Big Data technologies such as PySpark, Hadoop, Databricks, ETL, Snowflake
