Job summary

Bank of America is seeking a Software Engineer for the Healthcare Payments AWS-hosted in-production platform. You will develop and deliver complex requirements, ensuring functional, non-functional, and compliance needs are met with maintainable, testable designs from the outset.

You will mentor colleagues in CI/CD practices, design architecture components, and estimate work to realize stories through the delivery lifecycle. Strong regulated-environment experience is essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in Software Engineering in regulated environments.
• Proficient in C# and/or Java with Spring Boot and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with Test Driven development tools JUnit and Mockito.
• RESTful web services and RDBMS (Oracle/SQL Server).
• CI/CD, Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket, and related tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; effective communicator.

Responsibilities

• Code solutions and unit test per acceptance criteria and compliance.
• Design, develop, and modify architecture components and interfaces.
• Mentor engineers on CI/CD practices and automation.
• Refine stories, estimate work, and drive delivery lifecycle.
• Perform spikes/proofs of concept to mitigate risk.

This job is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of the job include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional and compliance requirements, and solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. Job expectations include a strong knowledge of development and testing practices common to the industry and design and architectural patterns.

Position Summary:

Healthcare Payments is the bank's first AWS hosted In-Production platform. We are looking for a Software Engineer with the skillset to support the expanding and revenue generating platform.

Responsibilities:

• Codes solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements
• Designs, develops, and modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained
• Mentors other software engineers and coach team on Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI-CD) practices and automating tool stack
• Executes story refinement, definition of requirements, and estimating work necessary to realize a story through the delivery lifecycle
• Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas
• Automates manual release activities
• Designs, develops, and maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance)

Required Qualifications:

• At least 7+ years experience in Software Engineering with experience working in highly regulated environments.
• Proficient in C# and/or JAVA development, including Spring Boot and RESTful APIs.
• Has experience in Test Driven development tools Jnit, Mockito.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to break down requirements and find efficient solutions.
• Experience building RESTful web services based applications.
• Strong hands on Database working knowledge with common RDBMS such as Oracle, or SQL Server.
• Experience in CI/CD, Jenkins, Git, BitBucket and other build/deployment tools/process.
• Good interpersonal communication skills for technical and business conversations.
• Leadership qualities to collaborate in an environment with developers in multiple geographical location.
• Exposure to Agile methodologies and able to work in a fast paced agile work space.

Desired Qualifications:

• Ruby/Rails, Kafka, event-driven architectures, Docker, cloud migration and modernization experience, healthcare/payments/financial services domain knowledge.

Pay range

$102,900.00 - $179,900.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.
