Job summary

ZoomInfo Technologies LLC is seeking a Software Engineer III on the Integrations team to build backend services powering reliable, real-time data sync across millions of records using Node.js, NestJS, Kafka, and modern API standards.

You will own small-to-medium features end to end, collaborating with product and platform teams to clarify integration use cases and contribute to reliability through logging, monitoring, and code reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Working experience with Node.js.
• Familiarity with REST API design and error handling.
• Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical partners.

Responsibilities

• Build backend integration services using Node.js (NestJS) with mentorship.
• Implement connectivity between ZoomInfo data layer and third-party platforms.
• Develop reliable job execution patterns with retries and state management.
• Create and maintain APIs and internal services integrating with external systems.

You will help build the systems that connect ZoomInfo's platform to the CRM and marketing automation tools our customers rely on every day, including Salesforce, HubSpot, and Microsoft Dynamics 365. As a Software Engineer III on the Integrations team, you will contribute to backend services that power reliable, real-time data sync across millions of records, using Node.js, NestJS, Kafka, and modern API standards. You will work alongside senior engineers and tech leads who will mentor you as you deepen your expertise in distributed systems and grow toward broader ownership.

What You'll do:

• Build backend integration services and features using Node.js (NestJS), with guidance from senior engineers
• Implement connectivity, data ingestion, and export logic between ZoomInfo's data layer and third‑party platforms
• Develop reliable job execution patterns, including retries and basic state management, within larger orchestrated workflows
• Create and maintain APIs and internal services that integrate with external systems, following established patterns
• Add logging, metrics, and tracing so your services are observable and easy to troubleshoot
• Write clean, tested code and take part in code reviews, both giving and receiving feedback
• Own small‑to‑medium features end to end, partnering with product and platform teams to clarify integration use cases
• Troubleshoot production issues and contribute incremental reliability improvements, escalating when scope exceeds your ownership

What you bring:

Must-Have

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with a growing focus on backend systems
• Working experience with Node.js
• Familiarity with REST API design, including request/response patterns, status codes, and error handling
• Strong communication skills and comfort collaborating with technical and non‑technical partners

Preferred

• Exposure to NestJS or Java (Spring Boot)
• Experience integrating with external APIs or CRM/MAP platforms
• Understanding of authentication and authorization concepts (OAuth 2.0, JWT)
• Exposure to NoSQL or relational databases (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
• Interest in distributed systems concepts such as queues, event‑driven patterns, and eventual consistency

The US base salary range for this position is $XXX,XXX - $XXX,XXX + variable compensation + benefits.
