Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience programming in Objective-C or Swift.
• 2 years of experience with iOS application development.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 2 years of experience with performance, large scale systems data analysis, visualization tools, or debugging.
• 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.
• Experience with computer vision and augmented reality.
• Proficiency in code and system health, diagnosis and resolution, and software test engineering.

The XR Team's mission is to give people superhuman abilities by making information instantly and intuitively accessible. On the Augmented Reality (AR) Glasses Maps team, we build the user-facing experiences that give our users intuitive ways to explore and navigate the world on the AI Glasses, a brand-new frontier for Google.

The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first-party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for users around the world.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US Salary Range: $147,000 - $211,000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

• Write product or system development code.
• Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
• Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
