Job summary

Google is seeking software engineers to develop next‑generation technologies across platforms, with opportunities to switch teams and projects as the company grows. The XR Team in particular focuses on enabling information access on iPhone and wearables, bridging mobile devices with next‑gen XR capabilities.

The Platforms and Devices team covers Google's computing platforms and first‑party hardware, driving fast, seamless experiences and innovations for users worldwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience programming in Objective-C or Swift.
• 2 years of experience programming in C++.
• 2 years of experience with iOS application development.

Responsibilities

• Write product or system development code.
• Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
• Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 2 years of experience with performance, large-scale systems data analysis, visualization tools, or debugging.

• Experience with video streaming.
• Experience with remote rendering.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $147000 - $211000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
