Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of software development in Go, Java, or C++ with strong data structures.
• 2 years building large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or related compute/storage topics.
• 1 year of Kubernetes experience.
• Master's/PhD in CS or related field (preferred).
• 3 years building distributed systems or cloud infrastructure focusing on Kubernetes (preferred).
• Ability to contribute to Kubernetes or other open-source projects (preferred).
• Excellent communication and people management skills (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Develop new systems and tools in Go, Python using a variety of internal and OSS frameworks.
• Work closely with other engineers across GKE and Google to define requirements, share insights, and deliver impactful solutions.
• Experiment and explore Agentic solutions to solve problems related to test and release excellence.
• Advocate critical features and releases that span the GCE-GKE stack to meet customer requirements.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to manage upgrade lifecycles, troubleshoot complex issues, and optimize for customer experience.

Minimum Qualifications

• 2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
• 1 year of experience with Kubernetes.

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 3 years of experience in building or managing distributed systems or cloud infrastructure, focusing on Kubernetes.
