You will join a collaborative, inclusive culture where your strengths have room to grow and your ideas can drive real impact. Step into a role where you can contribute to our shared success through meaningful work. We are actively hiring for a Software Engineer III, Data Platform Operations - Remote.
As a Software Engineer III - Data Platform Operations, you will develop, deliver, and support software and automation that strengthen the reliability and operational readiness of the organization's enterprise data platforms. Using established DevOps, DataOps, Agile, and software engineering practices, you will help maintain scalable, observable, and well-governed data services that support business intelligence, analytics, regulatory reporting, customer data exchanges, and operational decision-making. This is not a traditional application development role. While software engineering is an important part of the position, the primary focus is platform operations, production support, automation, monitoring, incident response, deployment enablement, governance, and continuous improvement. You will work mostly independently within a collaborative team, contribute technical expertise, and serve as a go-to resource for design, implementation, and troubleshooting within your assigned areas.
You will work across a diverse enterprise data ecosystem that includes cloud and on-premises platforms, data warehouses, data lakes, ETL/ELT pipelines, streaming technologies, data integration platforms, orchestration tools, metadata and governance solutions, and emerging AI-enabled data capabilities. You will collaborate with Software Engineers, QA Engineers, Technical Analysts, Solution Architects, Data Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, Governance, Analytics, and Business teams to support production workloads, improve data availability and quality, and reliably deliver data products and services.
Enterprise data platforms including Snowflake, Informatica, StreamSets, Elastic, and AWS services such as S3, Glue, CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, EventBridge, and Lambda, along with related cloud-native technologies. Develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable, high-quality software, automation, and platform capabilities across supported technologies. Monitor platform reliability, scalability, performance, security, and operational readiness for production data and integration workloads. Perform deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management activities for data platform solutions and services. Follow established operational standards, support models, service-level objectives, engineering practices, and platform governance requirements.
Design and implement automation, monitoring, observability, and operational tooling that improve platform reliability and team efficiency. Develop and maintain dashboards, health metrics, alerts, logging frameworks, and operational runbooks. Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, infrastructure-as-code, and model release processes. Participate in developing DevOps and observability metrics and dashboards to support solution and production readiness. Implement continuous integration, unit testing, static analysis, and automated integration testing to support reliable and efficient software delivery. Use approved APIs and tools to implement defined solutions and improve operational efficiency.
Investigate and resolve production issues involving data platforms, cloud infrastructure, software components, and data integrations. Proactively identify problems, communicate roadblocks, and engage appropriate team members when additional support or escalation is needed. Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions that improve platform stability. Work with engineering and business teams to restore service, communicate status, and reduce operational risk. Translate business and operational requirements into practical, supportable technical solutions.
Contribute to the design and development of complex software features, components, and automation within assigned areas. Participate in producing design artifacts that align with architecture and engineering standards. Apply approved engineering practices and standards throughout design, development, testing, deployment, and support. Regularly demonstrate completed work to confirm alignment, gather feedback, and support continuous improvement. Participate in project planning and task estimation by providing input on technical feasibility, dependencies, and potential roadblocks.
Work mostly independently within a team setting while seeking input and support when appropriate. Serve as a technical go-to person for the team by providing input on design, implementation, and troubleshooting within areas of experience. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize requirements that align with business objectives. Provide clear, concise updates that support transparency and alignment across the team. Communicate technical concepts effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders through written, verbal, and presentation formats. Influence technical direction beyond assigned tasks through sound recommendations and collaboration.
Contribute to continuous improvement of software development and platform operations by applying relevant methods, tools, and best practices. Identify opportunities to improve productivity, code quality, observability, supportability, governance, security, and developer experience. Learn and participate in the adoption of AI and generative AI technologies within engineering and operational solutions. Stay current with emerging technologies and methodologies, including AI/ML, cloud technologies, DataOps, DevOps, and reliability engineering, and apply relevant learning to assigned work.
4+ years of progressive experience in Software Engineering. Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and progressive experience in software engineering. Experience designing, developing, testing, deploying, or supporting software and automation in an enterprise technology environment. Ability to work mostly independently, manage assigned work, communicate risks, and collaborate effectively within a cross-functional team. Practical problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into reliable technical solutions. Knowledge of relevant technologies and platforms aligned to the role, which may include: Cloud and data platforms such as AWS, Snowflake, S3, Glue, Lambda, DynamoDB, Informatica, StreamSets, and Elastic.
