Job summary

AHS American Home Shield Corp is hiring a Software Engineer to contribute across the full software stack, from design to production support. You will write tests, debug issues, and optimize system performance while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

You will work on on-call rotations and help maintain robust services, using Docker, Kubernetes and AWS in a fast-paced environment focused on customer home protection products.

Qualifications

• Solid foundation in computer science fundamentals and data structures.
• Ability to debug moderately complex problems and read existing code in production systems.
• Understanding of relational and NoSQL data storage options.
• Scripting in Shell, Python, or Ruby.
• Experience with languages such as C, C++, Java, Go, or .NET Core.
• Follows defined processes and can work on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Write documentation and automated tests for code to be written.
• Implement automated tests that pass and meet coding standards.
• Debug production issues and create mitigation plans.
• Optimize performance of existing implementations.
• Read logs and diagnose memory leaks across systems.
• Contribute to design decisions and write diagrams or state machines.
