Job summary

Google’s software engineers build next‑gen technologies for billions of users. This role focuses on Borglet for Google Cloud, interfacing with Linux kernel, hardware platforms, and Borg cluster management to ensure scalable, reliable node management.

The AI and Infrastructure team drives innovations delivering AI models and hyperscale computing power, with teams across Google Cloud, data centers, and systems research. Individual pay reflects skills, experience and education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
• 2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
• Experience in low-level systems programming languages (e.g., C++ or C).
• Experience working on the Linux Kernel.

Responsibilities

• Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
• Designing, implementing, and analyzing low-level computer systems and their interactions with the Linux kernel and hardware.
• Collaborating with partner teams as well as users across Google e.g., Borg team, ML teams, hardware platform teams, SRE teams, Google Cloud.
