Satispay is seeking a Backend Engineer III (Consumer Wealth Domain) to design, build, and operate high‑quality backend services for savings and investments. You will own features end‑to‑end, ensure transactional consistency, and contribute to a scalable wealth platform built on AWS and microservices.

You’ll work with Java, Spring Boot, and PostgreSQL in a hybrid setup, collaborating across product and UX teams while keeping a focus on reliability and financial precision.

Responsibilities

• Own the feature lifecycle from design to production for savings/investment backend services.
• Build scalable wealth products like Invested Money Box, savings goals, and portfolios.
• Manage AWS-based infrastructure and contribute to microservices architecture improvements.
• Leverage AI tools to improve code, root-cause analysis, and documentation.
• Collaborate with Product and UX, participate in code reviews and refactors.
• Drive system reliability by debugging incidents and sharing learnings.

What you’ll be doing

As our Software Engineer III, Backend - Consumer Wealth Domain, you’ll be the person who plays a key role in building and operating the backend services that enable millions of users to grow and manage their savings and investments seamlessly. Here’s what your day-to-day will look like:

• Own the Feature Lifecycle – Design, build, test, and operate backend services for savings and investment products—from initial technical design to production—using Java, Spring Boot, and PostgreSQL.

• Build Scalable Wealth Products – Develop and maintain core functionalities like the "Invested Money Box", automated savings goals, and investment portfolios, ensuring high reliability and transactional consistency.

• Master a Modern Tech Stack – Take ownership of our AWS-based infrastructure (EC2/ECS, S3, Lambda, Kinesis) and contribute to architectural improvements to ensure smooth integration across wealth-related microservices.

• Work in an AI-Powered Environment – Leverage AI tools daily to write and optimize code, speed up root cause analysis, and generate documentation, raising the bar for engineering efficiency.

• Solve Complex Financial Problems – Turn financial requirements into scalable technical solutions, balancing delivery speed with the extreme precision required by wealth management systems.

• Collaborate & Lead Quality – Work cross-functionally with Product and UX teams while actively contributing to code reviews, post-mortems, and refactoring initiatives to promote engineering best practices.

• Drive System Reliability – Debug complex issues across services, investigate production incidents, and share learnings with the team to continuously improve the health of our financial engines.

Who we’re looking for

• Experience – You have at least 3 years of experience as a Backend Engineer in fast-paced environments, with a strong track record of building and maintaining scalable microservices.

• Technical Foundations – Solid expertise in Java & Spring Boot, with exposure to cloud environments (AWS is a plus) and relational databases.

• Financial Precision – You care deeply about performance, data integrity, and transactional consistency—essential when handling users’ savings and investments.

• Teamwork and Communication – You excel at cross-functional collaboration and can communicate complex technical ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical peers.

• Passion and Language Skills – You are passionate about FinTech, wealth management, or startup environments and are fluent in English.

Salary

€38,000 - €46,000 gross per annum
This range is set using objective, gender-neutral criteria for the role’s core requirements. However, we do not believe in putting a ceiling on talent. The final compensation package is tailored according to your unique experience and expertise.
