Job summary

JPMorganChase Asset Wealth Management is seeking a Software Engineer III to join an agile team and own end-to-end delivery of market-leading software in a secure, scalable environment.

You will design, develop, and deliver full-stack solutions, collaborate with product owners to translate business needs into technical plans, participate in planning, reviews, and testing, and promote engineering excellence through secure coding, automated tests, and observability practices.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
• Core Java and full-stack application development, REST APIs.
• Hands-on SDLC experience including design, development, testing, CI/CD, and operational support.
• Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders in agile teams.
• Experience with modern programming languages and database querying.
• Experience writing unit, functional, and integration tests.
• Experience with observability, monitoring, logging, tracing, alerts, and SLO/SLA management.
• Experience building event-driven systems using Kafka.

Responsibilities

• Executes the build-out of strategic end-to-end platform capabilities for Fund Administration and Transfer Agency businesses
• Design, develop, and deliver full stack software solutions with strong problem-solving skills to address complex technical challenges
• Engage with stakeholders and product owners to gather requirements, clarify scope, and ensure technical alignment with business objectives
• Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, effort estimation, and technical roadmap definition
• Adopt enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, speed, and outcomes, with peer review and automated testing
• Apply SDLC toolchain knowledge and promote reuse of effective patterns across the team
• Develop secure, high-quality production code and review peers' work for reliability and standards
• Identify opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues to improve stability
• Maintain clear documentation including technical designs, architecture decisions, and runbooks
• Participate in communities of practice to drive adoption of modern tooling and patterns

Working within the global Fund Admin & Transfer Agency tech organization, you will take ownership of technical delivery end‑to‑end while actively engaging with stakeholders to translate business needs into well‑planned, high‑quality software solutions. This role demands a self‑starter who thrives in a collaborative environment, can manage competing priorities, and drives engineering excellence across the team.

Job responsibilities

• Executes the build‑out of strategic end‑to‑end platform capabilities for Fund Administration and Transfer Agency businesses
• Design, develop, and deliver full stack software solutions, applying strong problem‑solving skills to break down complex technical challenges.
• Engage directly with stakeholders and product owners to gather requirements, clarify scope, and ensure technical solutions align with business objectives.
• Participate in development planning activities including backlog refinement, sprint planning, effort estimation, and technical roadmap definition
• Adopt enterprise‑authorized AI‑assisted engineering practices within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes (e.g., AI‑assisted coding pipelines, code review/refactoring, test strategy acceleration, incident/root‑cause analysis support), while following consistent validation standards (secure coding, peer review, automated testing) and promoting reuse of effective patterns across the team.
• Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain
• Develop secure, high‑quality production code and review peers' work to maintain consistency, reliability, and adherence to engineering standards.
• Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve the overall operational stability of applications and systems.
• Maintain clear and organized documentation including technical designs, architecture decisions, and runbooks, ensuring knowledge is shared and accessible.
• Participate in communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and adoption of modern tooling, patterns, and best practices.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
• Core Java and full‑stack application development, Object‑oriented analysis and design techniques, experience with REST APIs
• Hands‑on practical experience across the full Software Development Life Cycle, including system design, application development, testing, CI/CD pipelines, and operational support.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders, translating business requirements into actionable technical plans. (e.g. working collaboratively in agile teams and participating in Scrum ceremonies, stand‑ups, retrospectives, sprint planning…)
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
• Experience in writing and maintaining comprehensive unit, functional, and integration tests.
• Experience implementing observability practices including monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting, and SLO/SLA management.
• Experience building event‑driven systems and distributed architectures using messaging and streaming technologies such as Kafka.
• Experience integrating operational and investment data platforms through APIs, event streams, and data pipelines.
• Leverages enterprise‑authorized AI coding assist tools within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity across complex deliverables (e.g., code generation/refactoring, unit test creation, documentation), while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards; contributes learnings and reusable patterns to improve broader team effectiveness.
• Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise‑authorized AI‑assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Familiarity with modern front‑end technologies, eg. REACT
• Hands‑on exposure to AWS cloud services and ecosystems
• AWS Certified (e.g., Solutions Architect, Developer, etc.)
• Financial Services experience. Working knowledge of Fund Administration, Fund Accounting, Transfer Agency, Custody, Investment Operations, or Asset Management platforms
