Job summary

Google LLC in Kirkland, WA is seeking a Software Engineer III for AI and Data Protection on Google Cloud to design and ship fast, scalable ML-enabled software. You will work across architecture, APIs, and neural networks to classify and redact sensitive information at rest and in flight.

This role emphasizes collaboration, code quality, and impact on safety capabilities across Cloud SDP, DLP, and AI tooling; prior ML infra experience and Java/Kotlin skills are valued.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with one or more ML areas (speech/audio, RL, ML infrastructure, or related).
  • 1 year of experience with ML infrastructure (deployment, evaluation, data processing, debugging).
  • 1 year of experience in software development with Java or Kotlin.
  • Experience in infrastructure, platforms, or backend software engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Write product or system development code.
  • Collaborate with peers and stakeholders through design and code reviews to ensure best practices.
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates.
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing sources and impact on operations.
  • Implement solutions in ML areas, utilize ML infrastructure, and contribute to model optimization and data processing.
