Job summary

Proofpoint is seeking an experienced Performance Test Engineer to design and execute functional and performance tests across cloud environments. You will develop testing frameworks in Python or Node.js, collaborate with DevOps and architecture teams, and drive continuous validation through CI/CD pipelines while upholding data security and privacy principles.

The role requires 5+ years in performance testing, strong coding skills, and hands-on cloud experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in functional performance testing or solutions performance engineering.
• Strong programming experience in Python or Node.js.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Proven ability to debug, troubleshoot, and identify performance issues across distributed systems.
• Working knowledge of GitHub, Docker, and container-based environments; experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
• Strong technical documentation skills, including architecture documents, test plans, and solution designs.
• Good understanding of data security and privacy principles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, EECS, or related field.

Work closely with development, DevOps, and architecture teams to troubleshoot and resolve performance issues early in the development process.

Create detailed performance test plans, technical documentation, architecture reviews, and performance reports.

Monitor application and infrastructure performance in cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

Integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous performance validation.

Utilize Docker for containerized testing environments and collaborate using GitHub for version control and code reviews.

Implement best practices related to data security, privacy, and secure system design.

Continuously improve performance testing methodologies, tools, and processes.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience in functional performance testing or solutions performance engineering.
