Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a senior software engineer in Illinois to lead the design and implementation of complex software components. You will work with clients and stakeholders to shape strategy and architecture, define scope and delivery plans, and ensure quality, performance, and security across platforms.

The role requires mentoring junior engineers, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and driving architectural decisions in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field with 5 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 4 years of relevant experience, or 9 years of relevant experience in lieu of education.
• Strong knowledge of software architecture and design patterns.
• Experience with CI/CD, cloud platforms, and container orchestration.
• Advanced proficiency in modern programming languages and frameworks.
• Ability to lead technical discussions and mentor others.
• Experience designing solutions using various cloud platforms including AWS and MS Azure.
• Building APIs that connect frontend, backend, and third-party services.
• Performance and scalability: optimize server and DB architecture for spikes in traffic.
• Strong experience building cloud-native apps on AWS (multi-region where applicable).
