C.H. Robinson is seeking a Software Engineer III on the Rating & Quoting team to build production-grade applications for global customers.

You will evaluate requirements, estimate tasks, and write performant, secure code while collaborating with product managers and QA analysts. The role emphasizes modern AI development tools, learning new technologies, and delivering reliable software in an enterprise environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in a software development team environment.
• 6+ years of experience creating applications in an object-oriented environment (C#, .NET).
• Experience with relational databases (MS SQL, Oracle) or NoSQL databases (MongoDB).
• Experience with microservices (WebAPI, Service Stack, REST API).
• Familiarity with AI/ML-driven engineering practices and AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot).
• Experience with Code reviews, Code optimization, and Unit/Acceptance Tests.
• Proficient with version control systems (Git, GitHub, TFS).
• Bachelor's Degree in CS/SE or MIS; or 4 years equivalent + HS diploma

C.H Robinson is seeking a Software Engineer III on Rating & Quoting team where you will use your passion for technology and experience delivering complex software solutions to support our global customers. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating requirements, estimating tasks, and writing code that meets performance, quality, business, and security objectives. You will collaborate with other software engineers, product managers, and quality assurance analysts to solve complex problems, improve our software development processes and standards, and keep up with emerging technologies. Responsibilities

• Develop software and designs solutions to satisfy customer requirements that consider performance and availability
• Collaborate with product managers and principal software engineers to translate requirements into detailed designs
• Estimate for software development effort including identifying dependent teams and developing code to satisfy complex requirements
• Optimize, refactor, and reuse code to improve performance and maintainability while ensuring maximum efficiency, effectiveness, and return on investment
• Write code using secure programming patterns and by finding, fixing, and enhancing security in existing applications
• Increase code quality through writing unit, integration, and acceptance tests
• Tune performance and resolve availability issues of product or service and its dependencies
• Collaborate with other software engineers and teams on code reviews, development infrastructure, and process enhancements
• Mentor and coach other software engineers by participating in design and code reviews and share best practices; proactively seek mentorship from others
• Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies

Required Qualifications

• 6+years of experience working in a software development team environment
• 6+ years of experience creating applications and features in an object-oriented environment (ex. C#, .NET)
• Experience with database objects in relational databases (ex. MS SQL, Oracle) or non-relational databases (ex. MongoDB)
• Experience with microservices (WebAPI, Service Stack, REST API, etc.)
• Familiarity with AI/ML-driven engineering practices, including leveraging AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, CodeWhisperer) and embedding AI/ML models into applications for automation and intelligence.
• Experience with Code reviews, Code optimization, Unit & Acceptance Tests
• Proficient with version control systems (ex. GIT, GITHub, TFS, etc.)
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or MIS; or, a minimum of 4 years of equivalent work experience and a high school diploma/GED

• Experience with cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, GCP)
• Experience with data streaming and messaging architecture and frameworks (Kafka, RabbitMQ, ESB)

Compensation Range

$102,700.00 - $231,100.00

The base pay range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum base pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Your individual base pay within this range is determined by work location, which takes into account geographic cost of labor, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base pay only and do not include additional variable compensation.
