Beacon Biosignals is seeking a Software Engineer to join their Datastore team in Boston. This role involves creating scalable data infrastructure for clinical studies, requiring 5+ years of backend development experience and strong SQL skills.
The ideal candidate will have experience in data engineering and familiarity with tools like Kafka, PostgreSQL, and Kubernetes. Remote work is supported, and the salary ranges from $150,000 to $170,000.
Beacon Biosignals is on a mission to revolutionize precision medicine for the brain. We are the leading at-home EEG platform supporting clinical development of novel therapeutics for neurological, psychiatric, and sleep disorders. Our FDA 510(k)-cleared Waveband EEG headband and AI algorithms enable quantitative biomarker discovery and implementation. Beacon’s Clinico-EEG database contains EEG data from nearly 100,000 patients, and our cloud-native analytics platform powers large-scale RWD/RWE retrospective and predictive studies. Beacon Biosignals is changing the way that patients are treated for any disorder that affects brain physiology.
Beacon Biosignals is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Datastore team. The Datastore sits at the heart of Beacon's platform. It defines our foundational data model and serves as the centralized repository and API for brain data collected from clinical studies, supporting the analytical tools, services, and applications used by our scientists, clinicians, and partners.
This role emphasizes the design and scaling of backend systems for data infrastructure, such as event-driven pipelines, data modeling, and APIs that enable scientific and clinical data use - distinct from frontend development or end-user application logic. You will lead the design and integration of new services and components for data and event processing, contribute to scaling the Datastore’s core infrastructure, and collaborate with platform and application teams to implement APIs that unlock new workflows in Beacon’s expanding portfolio of clinical studies and digital health products.
Beacon's robust asynchronous work practices ensure a first-class remote work experience, but we also have in-person office hubs available located in Boston, New York and Paris.
We don't expect every candidate to check every box. If you bring strong fundamentals, care about data infrastructure for health, and are excited to learn, we’d love to hear from you!
