Job summary

ProSync Technology Group, LLC is seeking a highly experienced Monitoring Engineer to help evolve our enterprise monitoring platforms, focusing on Zabbix templates and dashboards. The role requires TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance and will be based in our Columbia, MD location.

You will design templates, support cross‑team dashboards, deploy and troubleshoot Zabbix agents, and develop automation scripts for monitoring tasks, leveraging Linux environments and agile workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related discipline + 14 yrs system engineering experience; or Associate's/HS diploma + 18 yrs experience.
• Hands-on experience with Zabbix development creating templates, dashboards, and monitoring logic.
• Ability to write or troubleshoot scripts in Python, Java, CSC, or similar languages.
• Experience navigating Linux environments for development and troubleshooting.
• Active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph is required.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring Solution Development — Contribute to the evolution of enterprise monitoring platforms, transitioning from MaasImpact to Zabbix and future TBD solutions.
• Zabbix Template Engineering — Design, develop, and maintain Zabbix templates to monitor supported applications, including hardware server certificate status and application process health.
• Cross‑Team Dashboard Support — Assist System Administrator and Network Engineer teams in creating, refining, and optimizing Zabbix dashboards for operational visibility.
• Agent Deployment & Troubleshooting — Support proper deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting of Zabbix agents across diverse systems and environments.
• Scripting & Automation — Develop or review scripts (Python, Java, C#, etc.) used for monitoring automation, data collection, and system integration.
• Linux‑Based Operations — Perform Linux user‑level tasks to support monitoring development, agent deployment, and troubleshooting activities.
• Agile Workflow Participation — Work from a JIRA ticket queue, attend scheduled team meetings, and collaborate with cross‑contract teammates at the Columbia, MD office.
• Core Hours: 1000-1400

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus fourteen (14) years of experience in system engineering (OR) An Associate’s Degree, a High School Diploma or GED plus eighteen (18) years of general system engineering experience.
• Hands‑on experience with Zabbix development creating templates, dashboards, and monitoring logic.
• Ability to write or troubleshoot scripts in Python, Java, CSC, or similar languages.
• Experience navigating Linux environments for development and troubleshooting.
• An active Top Secret/SCI w/ Polygraph is required.

Desired Requirements

• Experience with configuring or creating other Monitoring tools.
