Job description

Compensation: $110,000 - $130,000 per year. You are eligible for a Short-Term Incentive Plan with a target of 7.5% of your annual earnings; terms and conditions apply.

Software Engineer II - Remote

Software engineers design and develop custom software, systems, and integrations. They work with a team of fellow engineers, QA specialists, and business analysts in an agile/scrum environment to deliver enhanced product value. Responsibilities include coding, designing technical solutions with IT teams, participating in scrum ceremonies, and collaborating with stakeholders to understand workflows and requests. As a level 2 engineer, candidates are expected to complete assigned tasks and use critical thinking to identify issues, collaborate on resolutions, and propose enhancements.

Essential Functions
  • Design and develop software according to specifications
  • Participate in code reviews, providing and receiving feedback
  • Engage in scrum ceremonies such as backlog grooming, sprint planning, and daily standups
  • Meet with stakeholders to understand workflows
  • Assist leads with ticket management and workflow analysis
  • Monitor processes, log information, troubleshoot problems
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of software engineering experience
  • Experience managing end-to-end projects from discovery to post-launch monitoring
  • Ability to review and update specifications, translate requirements into technical solutions
  • Proficiency in an OOP language such as Java, Python, or .NET
  • Knowledge of SOLID principles and SQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL)
  • Experience with data formats like JSON, CSV, XML
  • Experience with EMR data pipelines, HL7, and AWS cloud infrastructure
  • Experience with web services (REST, SOAP, AMQP)
  • Proficiency with version control systems like git
  • Experience working in AWS cloud and Agile environments
  • Critical thinking skills for monitoring, troubleshooting, and implementation planning
