Job Overview

The BMC2 Capabilities engineering organization is seeking a Software Engineer II for embedded software development, primarily using C++. The role covers all phases of the software development life cycle and involves working on real‑time, middleware, operating system, and supporting tools. Teams use Agile/Scrum practices.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in requirements, design, development, and testing of embedded software, including application, middleware, operating system, and supporting tools; develop new work products or enhance existing applications and systems.
  • Design, code, test, integrate, and document software solutions.
  • Participate in internal review of software components and systems.
  • Coach, review, and delegate work to lower-level professionals.
  • Follow established development practices and processes to maintain configuration management of software products.
  • Operate in a collaborative SAFe Agile environment.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Experience with C/C++ and object‑oriented software design.
  • Typically requires a STEM degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing software in a team‑based Agile/SCRUM, DevSecOps, and test automation environment.
  • Experience in prior leadership roles such as Scrum Master, Product Owner, or equivalent.
  • Experience working with large, complex software systems and refactoring legacy code.

Salary Range

$68,900 – $131,100 USD (inclusive of all experience levels; compensation considered based on role, function, responsibilities, experience, location, education, and key skills).

Additional Compensation

Eligible for annual short‑term and long‑term incentive compensation programs, contingent on level and collective‑bargaining agreement status.
