Job summary

Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for a Junior Software Engineer in support of the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center Combatant Command, Command and Control (C2) Division (AFNWC/NCC).

This is a full-time position located at Offutt AFB, NE.

Location: Offutt AFB, NE. On-site. Work involves reviewing documentation, analysis of requirements, coding tasks, SQA, and agile team collaboration under government guidance with a focus on reliability and secure software practices.

Qualifications

• Citizenship: Must be a US citizen.
• Clearance: Must possess and maintain a TS w/SCI eligibility, and NC2/ESI, and ACCM eligibility.
• Education: High School Diploma.
• Years of Experience: 15+ years including DoD experience; IT/software development expertise; daily system management and QA.
• Preferred: Sec+ CE; Bachelor's degree; 3+ years DoD experience; USSTRATCOM experience.

Responsibilities

• Review, prepare, and analyze documentation: planning, requirements, design, support, testing, and include source code and configurations.
• Determine operational feasibility by evaluating requirements, solutions, and proposed approaches.
• Document and demonstrate solutions with diagrams, code comments, and clear code.
• Improve operations by systems analysis and policy/procedure recommendations.
• Acquire and license software by vendor information, testing, and approvals.
• Provide information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues.
• Perform Software Quality Assurance to ensure compliance with quality specs.
• Work in an agile software development team and perform tasks as directed.
• Elaborate designs into detailed technical tasks with users and government leads.
• Perform coding tasks for features, tests, and deployments; peer review.
• Code/scripting for build, packaging, and deployment; other engineering tasks.

Responsibilities

• Review, prepare, and analyze a variety of documentation: Planning, requirements, design, support, and testing. Also include source code, configuration files, and engineering resolution support.
• Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.
• Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code.
• Improve operations by conducting systems analysis; recommending changes in policies and procedures.
• Acquire and license software by obtaining required information from vendors; recommending purchases; testing and approving products.
• Provide information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues.
• Perform Software Quality Assurance (SQA) to ensure that developed software meets and complies with defined or standardized quality specifications.
• Work as a member of an agile software development team. Perform a mix of the below tasks as directed by the government team lead or engineering lead.
• Elaborate high-level feature/function descriptions into detailed technical designs and tasks, in collaboration with users and government lead engineers.
• Perform coding tasks for features/functions.
• Perform coding tasks for functional and performance tests for features/functions.
• Perform peer design and code reviews with other team members.
• Perform coding/scripting tasks for software build, packaging and deployment.
• Perform other software engineering and documentation tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Experience

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Clearance: Must possess and maintain a TS w/SCI eligibility, and Nuclear Command and Control/Extremely Sensitive Information (NC2/ESI), and Alternative or Compensatory Control Measures (ACCM) eligibility

Certifications: None

Education: High School Diploma

Years of Experience: Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience to include:

• 5 years supporting the DoD
• Expertise in Information Technology and Software development, architectures, system and application requirements
• Technical Operational expertise for daily system management, troubleshooting, quality assurance, problem analysis, and resolution for hardware, software, and interfaces

Preferred Qualifications

Certifications: Sec + CE

Education: Bachelor's degree

Years of Experience: 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years supporting the DoD

Additional Experience: Demonstrated experience supporting USSTRATCOM weapon systems and/or capabilities
