Job summary

Elastic seeks a software engineer focused on shaping the future of application networking within Elastic Cloud, covering Ingress, security controls, private connectivity, and DNS management. You will work with diverse engineering teams to keep Elasticsearch, Kibana, and the Elastic stack proficient and secure.

You will tackle scalability challenges, refactor code for performance, and leverage AI tools to boost productivity while ensuring high code quality through testing and observability

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience developing software in Golang with an emphasis on scalable networking components.
• Experience working with Kubernetes (Cilium, external-dns, Envoy Gateway & Crossplane) is a plus.
• Knowledge of at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their networking ecosystem.
• Proficient in using AI tools to enhance code functionality and maintainability.
• Facilitated knowledge-sharing initiatives that promoted best practices in application networking across teams.
• Care about the quality of work shipped — testing, observability, and operability.
• Curiosity about distributed systems and how services communicate at scale.
• A collaborative approach: welcoming feedback, sharing context, learning from teammates

What is The Role:

What You Will Be Doing:

Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary. This role does not have a variable compensation component.

The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is listed below. In select locations (including Seattle WA, Los Angeles CA, the San Francisco Bay Area CA, and the New York City Metro Area), an alternate range may apply as specified below.

An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.

Therefore, in addition to cash compensation, this role is currently eligible to participate in Elastic's stock program.
