Job summary

Katalyst is seeking a skilled engineer to build and validate models and simulations for complex aerospace missions. You will create training environments, develop testing tools for SITL, and maintain the coding workspace while ensuring alignment with multiple internal stakeholders and ITAR requirements.

Qualifications

• 3–8 years of experience in modeling and simulation for complex aerospace missions.
• Expert knowledge in C++ and Python.
• Owned at least one area of a software product.
• Experience developing for multiple internal stakeholders such as AI&T, GSW, MOPS, FSW, etc.
• Knowledge of distributed compute frameworks.
• BS in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or closely related STEM field.

What We’re Looking For:

Required:

• 3-8 Years of experience in modeling and simulation for complex aerospace missions
• Expert knowledge in C++ and Python
• Owned at least one area of a software product
• Experience developing for multiple internal stakeholders such as AI&T, GSW, MOPS, FSW, etc.
• Knowledge of distributed compute frameworks
• BS in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or closely related STEM field

Preferred:

• Experience simulating in 6-DOF relative motion and RPOC
• Contributed to previous digital twin efforts
• Strong foundation in multiple subsystems such as GNC, Flight Dynamics, EPS, Propulsion, etc.
• Previous experience in simulation frameworks such as Basalisk, STK, GMAT

Additional Requirements:

Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed.

Compensation and Benefits:

Your base salary will be determined on a case‑by‑case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job‑related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. The anticipated salary range for this role is $120,000 - $165,000 annually.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at Katalyst. You will also be eligible for long‑term incentives, in the form of the Employee Stock Option and Equity Plan, as well as a relocation bonus and other discretionary bonuses.
