The role emphasizes independent execution, improvements in software performance, reliability, and mentoring on the Software Engineer I team while contributing to the evolution of our software ecosystem.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of software development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
• Strong problem solving, debugging, and system design abilities.
• Proficiency in C++, Python, or Lua, across multiple languages as needed.
• Experience with multithreading, networking, and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test software across the full lifecycle of SICK products and platforms.
• Lead enhancements, maintenance, and releases across software lifecycle.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to meet technical and schedule expectations.
• Provide input during requirements refinement and architectural discussions.
• Mentor Software Engineer I and contribute to process improvements.
• Develop prototypes, proofs of concept, and MVPs to validate ideas.
