Job summary

Crunchyroll, LLC is seeking a Software Engineer II for the Memberships team in San Francisco, CA. You will architect, build, and optimize the membership platform that powers Crunchyroll’s revenue collection, collaborating with design, product, quality and data teams to deliver reliable, scalable services.

We value backend experience, 2+ years in the software industry, and proficiency in Typescript/Node.js, Java or Go, plus cloud tech (API Gateway, Lambda, EC2, RDS, ECS) and databases

Qualifications

• 2+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Experience with Typescript/Node.js, Java or Go.
• Experience with cloud services (API Gateway, Lambda, EC2, RDS, ECS).
• Experience with databases (Postgres/MariaDB, DynamoDB/MongoDB).
• Strong on-call and incident management; agile teamwork.

About the role

As a Software Engineer II on our Memberships Team, you will help shape the future of our Service Monetization Platform. You will architect, build and optimize our membership platform that powers revenue collection for Crunchyroll. Working with design, product, quality and data teams, you will solve complex challenges, optimize performance, and enhance user experience, directly contributing to the growth of the Crunchyroll fanbase.

In the role of Software Engineer II, you will report to the Engineering Manager of the Memberships team.

About You

• You’re an experienced and passionate Software Backend Engineer with experience building robust and reliable backend services (2+ years of relevant experience in the software industry)
• You’re experienced in Typescript or Node.js, Java, GoLang.

• You’re experienced with databases (PostgresDB/MariaDB, DynamoDB/MongoDB)
• You’re experienced in operational excellence (on-call rotations, incident management)

About the Team

The Membership team is responsible for building and maintaining systems that assist in subscription management and granting benefits for our customers. We are directly tied to one of the main streams of revenue and pride ourselves on quality code, service reliability, and teamwork. Our day to day includes executing payment & subscription processing, marketing strategies, process improvements by leveraging analytics and partnering with customer support. Our services process millions of subscriptions in a highly secure, distributed, and scalable environment that is constantly evolving to meet the needs of both our users and privacy standard processes.

The Pay Range for this position is listed. Actual pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Crunchyroll’s Total Rewards offerings for employees.
