Sweet James Accident Attorneys in Orange County, CA is hiring a full-stack engineer to build AI-powered applications used by staff daily. You will own features end to end—from UI in React/Next.js to backend services in Node/TypeScript or Python, plus Postgres data management.

The role emphasizes shipping production-grade code, integrating with Salesforce/Litify, Outlook, SharePoint, Zoom, Twilio and DocuSign, and deploying to Azure.

Qualifications

• At least one LLM-powered feature shipped to real users: prompt design, tool use, structured outputs or retrieval.

Pay Scale: $130,000–$165,000 per year (base pay)

The Role

Build full-stack apps with AI inside them and own them in production.

Technology is part of how we practice law. Systems we built and run ourselves read and sort more than 100,000 incoming documents and transcribe more than 100,000 calls every month, chase medical records, and put each case's full history in front of the people working it. We have replaced seven figures of vendor software with our own systems, and we keep adding more.

You will build the internal apps our staff work in every day, from the screen to the service and database behind it, and add AI where it saves real time. You own features end to end: learn the work from the people who do it, build the fix, test it, ship it, and watch it in production.

Responsibilities

• Build full-stack features. React and Next.js screens, Node/TypeScript and Python services, and Postgres, for apps like our records console, claims console and case assistant.
• Build AI features. Document extraction, classification and routing, search across case files, and agents that take actions with a person approving the result.
• Connect the firm's systems. Integrate with Salesforce/Litify, Outlook and SharePoint (Microsoft Graph), Zoom, Twilio and DocuSign.
• Test before you ship. Automated tests for your code, and evaluation sets for AI changes that measure facts captured, facts missed, wrong answers, cost and speed.
• Run what you build. Deploy containerized services on Azure, monitor them, and fix them when they break.
• Learn the work first. Sit with intake, case management, records and litigation staff before building, and train them on what you ship.
• Write it down. Document each system so someone else on the team can run it.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years building production software, full-stack: React or Next.js plus Node/TypeScript or Python.
• SQL and Postgres.
• At least one LLM-powered feature shipped to real users: prompt design, tool use, structured outputs or retrieval.
• Integrations built on REST APIs and webhooks.
• Git, code review and Docker, plus cloud deployment experience (Azure preferred).
• Care with sensitive data, and the ability to explain technical work in plain language.

Preferred

• Anthropic Claude or OpenAI APIs; agent frameworks or MCP.
• Supabase and vector search with pgvector.
• n8n or another workflow automation platform.
• Salesforce APIs and SOQL; Litify.
• Voice AI or telephony (Retell, Twilio, Zoom).
• Legal, insurance or healthcare data.

What Success Looks Like

• First month: You ship a production improvement to one of our apps.
• 90 days: You own one feature area end to end, with tests, monitoring and a runbook.
• 12 months: Something you built is part of staff's daily routine, with its hours saved measured.
