Job summary

RTX, Collins Aerospace, seeks a Software Engineer II in Aguadilla, PR to design, develop, and sustain air traffic management software. You will work in a Unix/Linux environment, contribute to safety-critical systems, and collaborate across engineering and program management. The role is hybrid with 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.

Reqs include a STEM degree with 2+ years of experience, Java or C/C++, Docker/Kubernetes, and scripting in Bash/Python. U.S.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and 2 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree.
• Experience in software development, integration, and testing, with Unix/Linux
• Hands-on programming in Java or C/C++.
• Familiar with containerization (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes).
• Scripting with Bash and Python.
• US citizenship is required for access to this program/contract.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software for Air Traffic Management Systems.
• Perform software development, integration, testing, and validation for safety‑critical systems.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and work instructions.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
• Implement and troubleshoot software solutions using modern tools and methodologies.
• Contribute to innovative solutions for aerospace and defense challenges.
