Pinterest’s Data Privacy Engineering team builds access control, auditing, and data handling services and solutions used across Pinterest’s tech stack. We’re looking for a growing engineer with expertise in an existing coding area that wants to grow their knowledge and help us tackle problems across Pinterest’s Big Data tech stack. You’ll own a set of features and services that helps internal data users safely utilize the latest technologies on large-scale datasets.

What you’ll do:

• Own a set of features and implement them across Data Engineering platforms and become an expert in your feature area
• Field open-ended feature and support requests related to Data Privacy and data access from engineers throughout Pinterest
• Produce reliable, scalable designs for your projects
• Partner with upstream platform teams and downstream data consumers to build end-to-end solutions for complicated problems

What we’re looking for:

• Top-tier coding ability in at least one major programming language, and the interest and ability to learn more quickly
• The ability to quickly move across tech stacks to commit and review code changes
• Expertise in the use of logging for auditing and remote systems debugging, and strong debugging skills
• Strong understanding of design patterns and architectures in your current field
• Some experience with SQL or SQL-like systems and big-data systems experience are a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, or equivalent experience
