Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Software Engineer II to join the Advanced Concepts and Enterprise Engineering team. You will build and maintain distributed services and user interfaces that support engineering workflows across the company, delivering reliable, data‑driven solutions for space exploration missions.

You will design scalable reporting, dashboards, RESTful services, and analytical data models while collaborating with domain specialists and partners.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, Ruby, C#, or equivalent general‑purpose language.
• Experience delivering services or products with ownership.
• Backend expertise creating web servers & APIs using Python, Node.js, or related frameworks (e.g., Next.js, Ruby on Rails, Flask).
• Front‑end skills: HTML, CSS, JavaScript (ES6, TypeScript), React, data visualization, and styling libraries such as Tailwind, Material‑UI, Bootstrap.
• Database proficiency: writing complex SQL queries and designing normalized schemas.
• Excellent written communication and presentation skills.
• Analytical, organized, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Knowledge of modern software practices such as version control, CI/CD, and test‑driven development.
• Attention to detail and high accuracy.
• Self‑starter with a strong bias for action.

• Experience with JIRA, GitLab, and Confluence.

• Experience working with generative AI for structured data.
• Knowledge of ETL tools and processes.
• Experience with Linux, Docker, and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with Infrastructure‑as‑Code and relevant technologies.
• Familiarity with AWS services (S3, RDS, EC2).
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.

Base Pay Range

CO applicants: $123,714.00 - $173,199.60. WA applicants: $134,961.00 - $188,945.40. Other site ranges may differ.
