Job summary

Charles River Laboratories in Charleston, SC is seeking a Software Engineer 2 for the Microbial Solutions site. This on-site role is Mon-Fri.

You will design, develop, document, test and debug software, integrate hardware interfaces, and collaborate with systems engineers, hardware engineers, testers, project managers and product managers to meet customer needs. The team emphasizes modern tech and quality, with opportunities to own the product from development through post-launch support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalentEngineering skillset and work experience in Software Engineering.
• 3-4 years of experience creating software professionally.
• Experience building software on a development team and launching products.
• Experience writing software for an embedded Linux environment.
• C/C++ and C# programming experience; .NET Core, and ASP.NET Core; strong Linux background.
• Experience with Git, Visual Studio, SQL databases; additional programming (VB.NET, Python, JavaScript) is a plus.
• Front-end development experience (WPF, WinForms, Qt, Angular).

Job Overview

We are seeking a Software Engineer 2 for our Microbial Solutions site in Charleston, SC. This is an on-site position Mon-Fri.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer in the R&D department you will be responsible for designing, architecting, developing, documenting, testing and debugging software for new products. You will collaborate with Systems Engineers, Hardware Engineers, Testers, Project Managers and Product Managers while working on the Product Development team. You will ensure that best practices are used, that modern and effective technologies are employed, and that requirements are properly interpreted and met. You will work as an active member of a software development team, interacting often with peers, to ensure the correct work is being done and that quality standards are met. You will support products after they have been launched, ensuring that customer issues can be resolved.

• Experience with Git source control and Visual Studio; SQL databases; additional programming ability ( VB.NET,Python, JavaScript) is preferred.
• Front end application development experience (WPF, WinForms, Qt, Angular)

The pay range for this position is $87,000-$102,000. Please note that salaries vary within the range based onfactors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
