Job summary

Wyetech, LLC is seeking a Software Engineer – Level 1 to support Secure the Enterprise initiatives, focusing on automated security evaluation and authorization within a mission-critical environment. You will work in a Scrum team to develop, deploy, and maintain enterprise cybersecurity tooling.

Ideal candidates have strong analytics development experience, data processing skills, and a willingness to learn Apache Pig and PySpark.

Qualifications

Active TS/SCI security clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (FSP) is required.
Seven (7) years of experience as a Software Engineer
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university.
Four (4) additional years of relevant software engineering experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree.
Strong background in analytics development, including software solutions supporting data processing, transformation, or analysis.
Willingness and ability to learn Apache Pig and/or PySpark for developing and maintaining data analytics.
Experience translating requirements into software design and performance specifications.
Experience designing, developing, modifying, testing, and maintaining software applications.
Experience debugging software, identifying defects, and implementing corrective solutions.
Experience developing database queries and working with data repositories.
Experience integrating software components into new or modified systems and operating environments.
Experience supporting software testing, validation, troubleshooting, and performance improvements.
Ability to develop and maintain technical documentation supporting software development projects.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, execute, and optimize Pig and/or PySpark analytics supporting enterprise cybersecurity operations.
Review data ingestion tickets and merge requests with other developers.
Investigate data ingestion issues to ensure accurate delivery within the system.
Develop analytics that support data processing, transformation, validation, and delivery to end users.
Monitor day-to-day data operations and troubleshoot data quality issues.
Develop queries and interfaces supporting databases and data repositories.
Design and implement complex database queries and interfaces for data retrieval.
Identify opportunities to improve data processing efficiency and reliability.
Collaborate with Data Management team to deploy new application functionality.
Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and components.
Modify existing software to implement new features and improve performance.
Develop and implement algorithms meeting system requirements.
Integrate software into new or modified systems and environments.
Debug applications and investigate problem reports to implement fixes.
Analyze system performance, data usage, and workflows to develop solutions.
Apply software engineering principles and development methodologies.
Evaluate software reuse opportunities and integration of COTS and GOTS technologies.
Assist with software testing procedures, validation, and defect resolution.
Collaborate with engineers to resolve integration and performance issues.
Support continuous improvements to system functionality, stability, and maintainability.
Participate in Scrum ceremonies and champion code quality.
